From Our Homes to Yours: United Way's 2020 Holiday Recipe Swap

From Our Homes to Yours

We'll let you in on a fun tradition in the United Way of Western CT offices: each year in December, we host a pot-luck holiday lunch to gather and send off the year over plates beloved snacks, meals and sweets.

There's a row of slow cookers usually plugged in on our long credenza, savory smells of hot dip, chili, meatballs filling the halls; fried empanadas with their golden blistered dough; chips clinking into deep bowls to accompany dips, and stuffed breads. Dessert of course is represented, with cookies of every stripe set out and delicately stacked. Oh yes, that *is* a luscious chocolate trifle you spy on the table. And it tastes as good as it looks.

Not this year.

Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we couldn't gather as usual. We did a have a festive lunchtime Zoom, tucking into lunch from our own homes.

And we also decided to collect and compile beloved recipes from United Way stewards as a virtual recipe swap. And we want to share the joy with you, our beloved community.

We're sharing favorite snacks, appetizers and bar cookies; family recipes for dinner, side dishes, sweet and savory. Download the booklet as a PDF, or save it to your favorite Pinterest recipe board!
